The Evolution of Project Management, Google Sheets and More

PROJECT MANAGEMENT IS EVOLVING

…and not just inside of Jetbuilt. The way we manage our projects has been evolving at a rapid pace, from Clipboards and Gantt Charts to Scrum and Phone apps and more.

We built our reputation by saving you time budgeting, presenting and closing your projects. Having achieved that, we can now look forward to saving you time by helping you manage those projects as well.

Over the last year or so I have received feature lists, charts, diagrams and ideas from many of you, and have been designing a platform around those concepts. Before we move this into production, I am going to reach out to the whole community to ask for any additional input. Please reply to this email or give us a call to discuss your thoughts. We really want to hear of your successes and failures between various methods and processes, so that we can present a solid, focused platform that best serves our community.

Here is a glimpse of some of the features:

  • Tracking shipped items to warehouse or site
  • Serial number and warantee tracking for each device
  • Assign tasks for projects, which are then divided into smaller steps
  • Optional dependencies for tasks and steps
  • Due dates for tasks and steps
  • Photos and notes for each task and step
  • Full and automatic notifications on progress
  • “Field Tech” user type with phone access on project site
  • Time tracking which pushes to your DB for future labor estimating

And much more, all with the Jetbuilt speed and experience you are used to.

NOW, ON TO THE LATEST FEATURE UPDATES:

GOOGLE SHEETS INTEGRATION

You can now connect Jetbuilt to your Google account and push any Jetbuilt project to a Google Sheet. With this export you will see all fields, calculations, margins, totals, factors and more.

From Google, you can then use tools such as Zapier to flow this data into other online applications or simply share and manipulate the data as desired.

PAGE BREAK BETWEEN ROOMS

We receive constant feedback that our proposals are extremely clear and easy to read and take in quickly. Some of this comes from how we organize large projects into rooms and systems, along with page breaks for each room.

But for those projects where there are only a few items in each room, there can be a lot of wasted space. We have now added a “Page Break Between Rooms” checkbox in the Report Designer. When this box is deselected, new rooms will start midway on a page after the room before it. Enjoy!

PIPELINE BY MANUFACTURER REPORTS

This week we launched a pair of new reports for our Enterprise users. Pipeline by Manufacturer, and Pipeline by Manufacturer Detail.

You can quickly analyze how much product your company will be buying from each of your vendors and with as much detail as you wish.

You can filter these reports by dates, team members, project stages and more.
